Water Features

A garden with a water feature provides additional enjoyment with subtle sounds of water flowing across artfully placed rocks. With a water feature, the gardener can enjoy plantings that require more moisture than other garden plantings. Enjoy!

Rocks, Patios, and Walkways

These pictures display some of the creative and inspiring rock work, pathways and patio designs we've completed.

Stanford Garden - client garden

In close collaboration with Ed and Sharon Stanford, this garden was designed and installed in 2000 and 2001, with additions and modifications through the ensuing years.   The garden is a tranquil setting overlooking the Puget Sound with many opportunities to sit and enjoy the vistas and plant vignettes.  The gardens feature their conifer and ornamental grass collections, as well as a wide variety of shrubs and perennials.  Paths connect each of the garden areas and lead visitors to endless surprises in all seasons.  The Stanford's graciously open the gardens each year to Northwest Perennial Alliance (NPA) members through NPA's open gardens program and also for the benefit of The Garden Conservancy.  The photos are all from 2006 and 2008.

Pear Street Garden - client garden

Pear street Water garden was installed in 2001. Due to the designers friendship with the owner(s) he has been able to closely monitor its growth Today it reflects his vision and has far exceeded his expectations.

That garden has strongly influenced the other garden areas at the site, to the point that it appears as though the total area was part of a master plan. The photographs are from 2007.

Alpine Garden at Fairie Gardens

This series of photos is of the newly added Alpine Garden . It is a welcome addition to the garden and offers a miniature view of a high amountain garden.

The Celtic Garden at Fairie Gardens

Now six years old, the Celtic Rock Garden has become a favorite. Its 3 tiered construction allows for sharp drainage, encouraging alpine plants to thrive. Sun-roses, lewisias, dwarf conifers, succulents, hardy geraniums, grasses, dianthus, silene, along with lavenders and thymes, abound in this southern exposed area.
